Retiro

Mansions and the city's gateway, between the parks and the port.

Retiro is a barrio of contrasts: grand mansions and the Plaza San Martín on one side, the transport hub and the port on the other. The good part of Retiro, the blocks bordering Recoleta and the parks, is some of the most discreetly expensive real estate in the city.

Buyers here are end-users and the kind of quiet wealth that does not advertise. Location is everything in Retiro; a few blocks change the picture entirely, so this is a barrio where you lean hard on local guidance before you fall in love with a floor plan.

What it costs

As of late 2025, published asking prices in Retiro sit around USD 2,900 / m² for an apartment (Zonaprop index). Keep one thing in mind: those are asking prices, not closings. What actually changes hands is usually a notch below the sticker, and negotiating that gap into your pocket is precisely what you hire a broker for.
